This piece was born from an October journey through the 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay. Out on the edge of Smooth Island, facing the expanse toward Giant’s Tomb, the landscape tells its own story—rocks sculpted smooth by centuries of wind and waves, their surfaces rippling like water frozen in stone. Scrub and trees cling stubbornly to the shoreline, leaning into the gales and rain, shaped but not broken.
