Required materials: 2×2 ft piece of ¼ inch plywood (or less, depending on your box size- you can make two small boxes from this much plywood)

one metal or two plastic torsion/torque hinges (Amazon)

quick dry wood glue

glass from a cheap picture frame (for palette) this will determine your finished box size

Tools:

You will need a table saw (or a friend with one!) to cut the initial pieces of ¼ inch plywood that are then glued together. 

The hinges are attached with a power drill or screwdriver. 

clamps, a power drill and small drill bit and a varathane finish
